I've noticed that songs these days (especially sung by females) sound much more desperate than decades ago. Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Madonna, etc. When one doesn't find love it can assume some ugly manifestations.

As a matter of the matter, I do think that in every period of our living there co-existed both good things and bad ones.
